Worldwide obesity has nearly tripled since 1975. In 2016, more than 1.9 billion adults, 18 years and older, were overweight. Of these over 650 million were obese. 39% of adults aged 18 years and above were overweight in 2016, and 13% were obese. Most of the world’s population live in countries where being overweight and obese kills more people than those because of being underweight. 41 million children under the age of 5 were overweight or obese in 2016. People have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on Bariatric surgery (weight loss surgeries), but the issue remains unresolved.
The interesting fact is such physical imbalances are nothing but a reflection of emotional conflicts. Suppressed emotions manifest themselves at a physical level when unhealed for a long period of time.
Research suggests that uncontrollable anxiety leads to binge eating in individuals. These days more children are suffering from obesity. However, more than the influence of the environment, it’s a psychological response that the brain exhibits at a physical level.
Our unconscious mind constitutes 88-90% of the overall mind and stores our belief systems, emotions and memories which we may not be aware of at a conscious level.
When a 15-year-old boy visited Karma Guru Academy for a session on obesity, it was a revelation for him. The boy had visited many doctors and dieticians and had spent millions of dollars on supplements, diet plans, pills, etc but the problem remained unresolved. During his session, he realized that his problem of obesity started when he was bullied at school by his seniors at the age of 10.
Obesity is a manifestation of the emotional conflict a person carries in the unconscious mind, where they feel bullied by someone or feels the lack of love, attention, and support from the mother or is experiencing intense separation from somebody very close. The brain receives the message of attack or threat by the bully and gives a signal to the body to look bigger and protect the self. Also feeling intense separation makes the brain to tell the body to grow larger in size so that they can be “seen” more easily by the loved one. As a result, the person unconsciously starts eating more and the body starts to store more fat in order to look big.
So when the client accessed the source memory of the issue, he released all the humiliation, abuse, rejection, anger, and lack of love, attention, support or the conflict of separation. He also realized that the solution only lies in acknowledging the emotions and letting them go through Karma Yoga Healing, where the highest self-realization and learning helped him resolve the conflict in the mind. After taking 6 sessions, he was able to lose weight considerably. By releasing all the beliefs, emotions, defense mechanisms from the source memory we can overcome any health issue, relationship difficulties, and financial issues.
